Days 13-15: The Permanently Exhausted Pigeon | The Independent Christmas Advent Calendar
I made a pledge this year to go 100% independent Christmas.
And now we're back for Round 5. (if you've missed any head here)
Today’s three doors are for the friend who struggles to take time to chill - ( so basically everyone in the U.K. then).
Life keeps on rolling at 100 miles an hour and we keep on running to keep up with it, and this season at Yolklore we have been celebrating slow.
It’s harder than you think. Its in fact tantamount to the norms of life, but it you keep trying the peace at the end of the tunnel is life-altering.
Let's open up days 13, 14 and 15.
Sleep masks are the most wonderful contraptions.
When your brain senses pure darkness, it causes the production of sleep hormone, melatonin helping you drift off into dreamland.
This silk beauty is by Asceno. Pretty and practical, its silk material also helps fight off wrinkles.
Want more eye masks to choose from? We got a whole feature dedicated to them right here.
Chemicals are evil. We fight evil.
I like these guys.
I came across Something by Biocol Labs in Lagos, Portugal and have been using their sleep spray every since.
(Can you tell - I’m a dreadful sleeper)
This spray contains melatonin, passion flower and lemongrass all of which hel to reduce the time it takes to fall asleep and support your mental and physical relaxation,
Ps. It tastes like sweets.
I’ll also be trying their Something for the Knackered below, because #christmas
If your “friend” is still feeling cream crackered after the sleep mask and the sprays let’s take it old school.
We all know the dreaded blue light is nobody’s friend and all the scientists are telling us to put down our phones / laptops at least an hour before bedtime.
So you know where I’m heading with this?
Open up a book. Not just great for before bedtime but a lush escape any time of the day.
